What is ClickUp? A Short Overview ClickUp Email Notifications

ClickUp, a cloud-based project-management software, is available to companies and groups of all sizes. It offers a place to work efficiently with optimized task-handling and goal-tracking tools as well as reporting tools. ClickUp also gives you the opportunity to encourage growth and collaboration to great heights.

ClickUp is one of the most popular productivity platforms today. It has distinct features that make each platform stand out. There are many features available, and most of them are easy-to-use and convenient. It is also known for its free, jam-packed plan and highly valuable premium alternatives.

ClickUp is a popular and highly regarded product. Although ClickUp is packed with productivity features, some users find it too much.

What makes ClickUp stand out from the rest?

There’s no denying that ClickUp delivers when it comes to offering teams a wide variety of project management features. ClickUp offers everything you need, including core tools like task creation, calendar, report, and communication. ClickUp also has handy functions such as time and screen recording and real-time collaborations.

The best thing about large tool storage is the fact that they can all be accessed in one location, rather than using multiple apps. You don’t have to pay anything to access most of the core tools. ClickUp has been offering this free forever plan since its inception in 2017. According to some studies, having all of the required work tools in one place can increase team productivity by up to 20%.

ClickUp’s shortcomings

However, while having as many features in one single platform as possible is a sound idea, it does have a downside. We all know that dealing with a lot of stuff at once may leave us feeling fatigued at some point. A common complaint nearly everyone has about ClickUp is that the overload of tools requires them to allot extra time to learn. Most teams will need to learn the tools before they can use them for their full-time work.

Although not as serious as the other, ClickUp needs to improve its UI. It can sometimes be a little difficult to navigate and may become unresponsive in some cases. But that aside, it catches up in its customization abilities and offers excellent support and learning resources whenever help is needed.

ClickUp’s Pros

  • This includes a wide range of solutions for work, from task management to time tracking to goal setting.
  • Its free plan is the best in project management software
  • Let’s explore more customization options

ClickUp’s Cons

  • It has so many features in one platform that it may intimidate those entering it for the first time.
  • Overload of tools means more time for onboarding

ClickUp vs. Asana

Similar to ClickUp, Asana is a cloud-based program that allows you to keep up with your team’s tasks at any time on any device – did you know you can access both platforms through the iOS and Android mobile apps?

Asana comes with the core features you may expect, such as unlimited storage, reporting, goal tracking, and communication. ClickUp is a heavy-featured platform. Asana counters this by offering powerful tools for work and a simplified way to manage tasks.

Asana does not have as many tools as ClickUp, which may be good news for some. However, as high-quality as its lineup of features may seem, its estimated price range is twice as much as the other.

Comparison of the Features

Both Asana and ClickUp offer teams a handy slew of core workspace features and tools, plus some additions, including portfolio access and customization. The latter offers life-saving tools such as integrated time-tracking management. However, ClickUp does not. This means that you will need to create a program specifically for this purpose.

Asana’s offered set of paid plans costs twice the amount of what ClickUp currently has. ClickUp Unlimited plans start at $5, while Asana’s is a staggering $10.99. Asana’s free plans do not offer the same features as ClickUp and can only be accessed by those who have opted for premium tiers. The only thing that saves Asana’s entry-level tier is unlimited storage. ClickUp has the clear advantage in this category.

Asana’s Unique Aspects

Asana might not be well-known for its financial value. It might also need to be proficient in its offerings of project management tools. Asana may have had a greater advantage than ClickUp by not having much to offer.

Although the latter has a lot of features, it may not be enough for all teams, especially those who are going through the onboarding process. With the former, teammates wouldn’t have to worry as much, as its display of core tools is simply laid out and ready to use, further saving time in the process.

With that considered, it’s more liberating to integrate and incorporate as much as you want to enhance your team’s work experience with Asana. Like every other project management platform, Asana lets you integrate with various apps and services, including Zapier, for an expanded reach.

Asana’s Pros

  • It has enough task management features to ensure a fast working environment.
  • Its interface and general functions are sleek, making it easier for first-timers to explore the platform.
  • Has an impressive list of advanced integrations with third-party apps and services

Cons of Asana

  • Access to Asana’s paid-tier offerings is required for most of Asana’s key features.
  • The high price tag may not be a good fit for small teams or low-budget groups.

ClickUp vs. Monday.com

On our list of project management platforms, Monday.com is a rare case in which it offers (almost) the exact range of capabilities as ClickUp. Much like the latter, the former lets you do all kinds of task management duties of the highest quality possible.

Monday allows you to create any type of task, file them in folders and subtasks. You can also collaborate with your mates in real time even if you are far away.

ClickUp Monday lets you do what it promises. The only differences are that ClickUp’s interface is more modern than the other, easier to use, and more suitable for large groups.

Comparing the Features

Monday provides the following tools for work management that ClickUp offers: In addition to primary functions such as task-making and reporting, and automations; these include the Gantt charts and Kanban boards, in-house Documents feature and time-tracking tools. While you can get half of these already in ClickUp’s freemium plan, with Monday, you’d have to pay up just to access them, which can be a bit of a hassle.

The pricing range for Monday’s version is between Asana’s most expensive and ClickUp’s most valuable. Its Basic plan costs $8 – just a good $3 more than ClickUp’s equivalent, but not as pricey. Though admittedly, there’s not much to offer, Monday’s free plan wins when it comes to storage allowance. Comparing ClickUp’s 500MB storage allowance to ClickUp’s 100MB will immediately show the difference. ClickUp Email Notifications

Monday’s Unique Aspects

Monday might be able to offer a greater number of features than ClickUp, but that is only because ClickUp requires access beyond the paywall. We do appreciate the polished UI. Like Asana’s interface, Monday’s was designed to be simple to use even after you have been onboarded.

Monday’s simplicity is what makes it stand out. Its layout of its features is the best. Since it can integrate with third-party platforms, it gives companies with extra needs or solutions a space to maximize the software to the fullest.

Additionally, considering the cost range of its priced plans and their included tools, Monday has the potential to be a better great-value project management program for mid to large-sized teams. ClickUp is best for small groups so Monday should be the ClickUp for larger ones.

Monday’s Pros

  • Has a great-value range of paid plans, most of which are suited for mid-sized and large-scale teams
  • Has enough work view options, features, and functionality to give off a highly competitive edge
  • The interface is easy enough to use for everyone, even new teammates.

Monday’s Cons

  • Its free plan has some limits features-wise, despite offering users more free storage space allowance.
  • It lacks multi-device support, as it can’t be currently connected to voice control platforms like Alexa and Google Assistant.

ClickUp vs. Notion

Originally a note-taking application, Notion takes on a refreshing approach to task management. Notion does not rely on the traditional interface that is cluttered with many tools as ClickUp and other top platforms, but instead presents its features in a simplified, minimalistic way.

With Notion, you get to use a set of barebones work features, such as creating an organized list of to-do tasks, viewing the happenings in your workspace in different ways (from Kanban boards to calendar and timeline views), and crafting info-rich documents and wikis.

However, you wouldn’t be able to try out other handy tools, including the Gantt chart, as Notion does not have enough capacity to offer them. Regardless, while it may lack the range of powerful solutions, it sure does make up for its less complicated setting, making way for a more straightforward working environment.

Comparing the Features

As already established, Notion does not have as wide of a range of functions to offer on the table as ClickUp. The general design of Notion is less bold and bold than ClickUp’s (unless you use one of the pre-made templates it has on its website). It makes sense, however, given the way it was presented originally.

Beyond how much it can offer, Notion’s simplistic nature similarly influences its free tier and paid plans. The free plan allows you to try its core tools. What makes it different from ClickUp’s Free Forever is that it’s better suited for personal use than ClickUp’s. Notion’s Teams plan, on the other, seems to fit groups who may not need any of the increasingly complicated fuss of extra features better. ClickUp Email Notifications

Notion’s Unique Aspects

It is the only software that can cater to freelancers and small teams better than large companies with lots at stake. It is easy to use, considering the limited features it offers. It is easy to understand and use.

Given its minimalist look, organizing tasks and other duties has always been difficult. Whether you work alone or with a team, you may appreciate how you can cut straight to the chase and do whatever task is on your mind.

Notion is easy to use. Its layout is also simple enough that you can maximize it however you wish. It may not be as great as other tasks like automation, but those won’t be much of a great concern if you’re a simple task management type.

Notion’s Pros

  • Excels in its task-creating, note-taking, and organization features, especially considering its origin as a simple notes application
  • Its minimalist interface makes it easier to set up.
  • Encourages users to be more functional and fluid in their workflow – this is enough to suit both one-person freelancers and teams with multiple players

Notion’s Cons

  • It also requires other essential project management tools such as automation or advanced-level reporting.
  • You may need to rely on third-party integrations if you want to use Notion and maximize it with other features it currently cannot offer

ClickUp vs. Trello

Trello is breaking with tradition and aiming to be the most popular project management platform. It offers a variety of options for teams to organize and see project tasks. Some notable features include Kanban-style boards and Trello cards. There are also eye-catching views that range from lists to tables. ClickUp Email Notifications

ClickUp has been made a credible competitor by Trello’s task-laying capabilities. It excels in automations and integrations. ClickUp’s free plan seems comparable.

Trello’s visual layouts are what make it stand out, but we cannot say the same about other aspects of project management like reporting. Nevertheless, its limited scope of tool offerings makes onboarding less cumbersome.

Comparison of the Features

Trello, like ClickUp, is a great visual task management tool. Each layout allows you to stay organized and aligned with your team’s main goals. You can create a Kanban Board for free but you will need to purchase a premium plan for $10 to have access to many other options. Regardless, its task management and automation features seem good enough to use by any team.

It’s also worth noting that its integration capabilities seamlessly match those of ClickUp. Trello’s free plan limits may limit your options, but you might be able to use its native and power-up offerings to give you more flexibility in your workflow. Also, Trello’s entry level tier grants unlimited storage which ClickUp is currently unable to offer. This is a great bonus!

Trello’s Unique Aspects

Compared to ClickUp, Trello lacks a diverse range of workspace capabilities. Trello currently doesn’t allow you to track your projects, set up a timer or record work hours.

It is not suited for data-intensive projects that require a lot of flexibility. But will that matter if all you want is a place where you can organize your tasks for your team? If you don’t want to use Trello’s integration features, the default version might not suffice to meet your workspace requirements.

Trello’s task-management functions are a great way to organize your tasks. Apart from the assorted range of visuals, the Trello Cards feature lets you collate all your tasks into sub-ecosystems full of workplace interactions. ClickUp Email Notifications

Trello’s Pros

  • Offers a stellar range of board-based work view designs optimized for a variety of purposes
  • Has fewer features, ultimately making the onboarding and setup process less cumbersome
  • Its free plan gives users unlimited storage space, which is good news for those who handle extra data.

Trello’s Cons

  • Aside from boards and visuals, Trello needs to catch up in other crucial tools like reporting and time management.
  • You’ll only be limited to Kanban boards unless you sign up for its mid-tier Premium plan.

ClickUp vs. Jira Software

Jira Software has been proclaimed the best project management software for agile teams. It boasts a variety of highly functional and advanced features. These features are targeted at teams that specialize in IT or other high-skill areas, so if this is something you’re interested in, it may be worth your time.

Jira, like ClickUp is robust and flexible. Its current offerings of tools are great – but it’s better suited to coding pros. Its core functions aside, many have praised it for its excellent reporting, dev-ops and bug-tracking capabilities.

It is also highly praised for its impressive list of native integrations. These are all great features, but Jira is also criticized for its slow UI, confusing setup and inability assign multiple people to the same task.

Comparison of the Features

If there are a few things that both Jira and ClickUp have in common, they may include scrums, automations, project reporting, and power-heavy task management capabilities. The key distinction is the focus on dev teams, which may explain why some of Jira’s features are hard to digest if you’re not tech-savvy. ClickUp Email Notifications

Another aspect both platforms share is the intimidation upon first impression – ClickUp may be notorious for its feature overload. Jira’s features are so extensive that some may have trouble understanding it. As for Jira’s free and paid plans, you may likely reap the benefits of what each tier offers, especially if you work in IT. However, if you wish to get expert-level access to stuff like SSO and SCIM, you must also consider getting an Atlassian Access subscription, which will add more to your expenses.

Jira’s Unique Aspects

As daunting as it may seem, Jira has the potential to be a highly functional project management platform. Its many functions and tools make it a good choice for agile teams, especially when you consider the inclusion of unique assets such as DevOps or IT companies.

Although Jira might not have ClickUp, it can offer all the features you need. It is able to integrate with ClickUp and offers extra gigabytes storage space. This allows you to easily add any feature that you need into your workspace. You might like to integrate Gantt charts or time checking. You can explore all of them in the Atlassian Marketplace.

Jira has a problem that users frequently have. It can store as many integrations and your computer could run into hardware problems. With that said, Jira can be viewed as a platform where colleagues can collaborate as quickly as possible, so long as you have enough time to explore the platform.

Jira’s Pros

  • A great set of tools packed with power, many of which are designed for teams working in IT or web development
  • Has a generally functional free plan – and an equally robust list of paid plans
  • Jira is known for its over 1000 integrations with different platforms. ClickUp Email Notifications

Jira’s Cons

  • You may find it difficult to navigate Jira if you are not familiar with IT terminology.
  • It has been criticised for its slow interface, lack of intuitive functions and inability to manage important tasks.

ClickUp vs. Airtable

Airtable has been widely admired for its spreadsheet capabilities, but it has more to offer than that. Penned as a “real-time spreadsheet-database hybrid” that takes on a new spin on the usual project management software, it focuses on letting teams mix in all the workflow and data into one cohesive source of truth.

While ClickUp has some great database management features, Airtable is the best in this area. Airtable is best known for its flexible spreadsheet-adjacent view. Airtable is best suited for data-management teams, but it can be used for all purposes.

From its stable functionality to its user-friendliness, there’s no doubt that Airtable has gained the trust of so many folks who use it. But, in some cases, it can be challenging to use, especially with its data input functions.

Comparison of the Features

Airtable makes it easy to create a well-organized layout using spreadsheets. Based on its template library, they can be utilized in multiple ways and for multiple purposes. But, as per its recent update, there are more ways of viewing tasks that you can explore beyond spreadsheets, thanks to the Interface Designer feature. Similar to ClickUp, you now have the option to customize your views into calendar form or a Kanban board. ClickUp Email Notifications

Features aside, we have to appreciate how Airtable presents its free plan. Although it lacks some core features, it’s still very functional. You get to access some core features, but as for customization, there’s not much range of options to explore unless you sign up for any of its premium plans. These plans are a little more expensive than ClickUp’s so be aware.

Airtable’s Unique Aspects

Airtable excels in spreadsheets, out of all the project management tools on our list. It’s also one of the only platforms that cash in on their spreadsheet and table tools as their star asset.

Before the advent of digital boards or other task views, spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel were used to import data and set up tasks for projects. The design of these spreadsheet programs has helped teams achieve their goals.

But, as time passed, they slowly went out of style, considering the need for more flexibility and functionality. Airtable was designed to solve the shortcomings of spreadsheet platforms. Airtable’s unique capabilities make it more suitable for all types of teams, especially with cloud-based work and remote work. ClickUp Email Notifications

Airtable’s Pros

  • There are many amazing customization and spreadsheet-creating capabilities.
  • Renowned for its stable and functional user interface and experience
  • Because of its affinity for diversity, it is suitable for many types of work.

Airtable’s Cons

  • Sometimes, data import and export can be difficult to manage, especially when data is transferred from MS Excel.
  • Onboarding with Airtable may be confusing, but the effort will likely pay off once you’re used to its overall functions

Bottom Line: Which Project Management Software Should I Choose? ClickUp Email Notifications

If you want your team to do all things at once, ClickUp may be our best option. Monday.com is an excellent alternative if your team doesn’t want to feel overwhelmed the first time. Technically, all platforms in our list are alternatives. However, Monday.com has more in-house capabilities, such as communication tools, collaboration tools, reporting and time-tracking.

If you’re striving for a perfect balance between functionality and form, Asana, Notion, and Airtable are the best bets. You can focus on the task at hand while using as few features as possible. If you want to, integrations are available. The only difference lies in how they’re used: Notion focuses on note-taking and documents, Airtable on spreadsheets, and Asana on task handling with a little communication on the side.

Trello might be better suited for workflows that rely on visuals. However, you may need to integrate with other platforms in order to achieve other goals. It shines best when it is used with Kanban board views. Jira Software is a great choice if you are looking for an advanced interface and agile features, and/or a computer-related skill such as IT, web development or any other computer-related skill.

Lastly, if you want to stuff the best features of all the other PMS into one place, there’s no other thing we could think of other than ClickUp. But, if you’re going for this route, you may need to consider its strengths and weaknesses, most of which we haven’t fully covered here. It’s worth mentioning that some of ClickUp’s tools may be better, while others may not – nevertheless, it offers a decent list of integrations, which you can use to your advantage if you need it most, as with any other existing project management software.

Are you looking for the right PMS to help your team reach their dreams? Is ClickUp the right platform for your team, or is it something else that best suits your needs? Regardless of your choice, we’ll wish you the best of luck!

What is ClickUp? A Handy Overview ClickUp Email Notifications

ClickUp was founded in 2017 as one the most promising tech startups of the moment. The team behind ClickUp understood their goal: to make ClickUp the best place for teams and businesses to work more productively. They realized that the current productivity system could be all over.

There are a lot of project management tools out there that may be hard to keep direct track of – for instance, if you’re looking for a place to deal with project-related tasks, look closer to Monday.com or Asana. How do you track your time? Hubstaff and ActiveCollab are good options. Do you want to share documents and presentations with your team? Microsoft Office and Google’s suites of tools might help.

It’s not just the typical project management stuff that teams from all walks of life have to deal with. Communication also comes into play – while a select few platforms have a chat feature integrated within, most of them are downloaded separately. Think of Slack, MS Teams, and even Discord!

With that in mind, there are way too many productivity-based apps for teammates to keep up with, creating an oversupply of separate ecosystems. Some may find it more difficult to finish certain projects or achieve specific goals due to the increased number of apps. The guys behind ClickUp understand the growing need for a platform that not just provides all workplace solutions in one place but also helps improve productivity rates by 20%, so that explains why they took it upon themselves and created it in the first place.

Though founded around half a decade ago, ClickUp has since then amassed a following of over 200,000 small- and medium-scale businesses and companies. One of the eye-catching reasons why these teams rely on the platform is its cost-cutting list of features, helping them save up extra time – and money – in the process. Some of ClickUp’s notable tools include real-time collabs with fellow team members, shared task-setting, convenient productivity reporting, ready-made templates, and other handy customization assets, all on top of the usual tools such as task management, communication, and time tracking.

Another thing that makes ClickUp a solid pick for workplace activities is the flexible price range, including its free forever plan, which is among complete free packages as far as productivity platforms are concerned. While certain apps put their best features behind layers of paywalls, ClickUp ensures that all important tools are available for every teammate to use free of charge. This makes it highly ideal for short-on-budget teams who work remotely. ClickUp Email Notifications

What’s Good and What’s Not with ClickUp

From simple and convenient offerings to jam-packed pricing plans, it’s no wonder why ClickUp has become one of the top choices for the best productivity software on the internet, and a fan favorite, too! But, from the looks of it, this statement may be too good to be true, so keep reading if you want to check if ClickUp still has what it takes to stand on its own two legs.

The pros

  • ClickUp is one of a few platforms that offers a fully functional free plan. This includes vital workflow features that are not available through the paywall.
  • It comes equipped with a wide range of elite customization options, each suited for teams from various industries. You can customize dashboards to your personal preferences using the “Custom Fields” tool.
  • ClickUp provides a wide range of tools for work management that can be used to improve communication and engagement in the workplace. It can range from excellent real-time reporting features to smooth collaboration options.
  • Most of its tools are simple, convenient, and easy to explore, lessening the burden of juggling many productivity apps in one sitting.
  • ClickUp’s plans are not as limited as those from other platforms, so if you’re looking to accommodate as many team members as possible or integrate with numerous third-party apps and services, you can do so no matter what plan you’re subscribed to.
  • ClickUp offers desktop access as well as a mobile app for iOS and Android that allows inter-team collaborations to take place while on the move.

The Cons

  • ClickUp is full of easy-to use features but it can be difficult for new colleagues to learn how to use them.
  • ClickUp is not the best in UI design. Some parts of ClickUp’s font and text sizes might be difficult to read for some users. Color layouts can also be a concern.
  • ClickUp may have already been blessed with an abundance of productivity features, but it sure does lack a few other important ones, such as post-project feedback. Some of its integrated tools are also not as intuitive as the platform’s counterparts. ClickUp Email Notifications

Breaking Down ClickUp’s Pricing Plans

ClickUp offers four pricing plans to its users, with a sub-plan and upgrade tier for each. Each plan is suitable for different types of teams, depending on their size, manpower and availability of resources. Without further ado, let’s take an in-depth look at ClickUp’s plans!

Forever Free

Among the platform’s greatest highlights, there’s no question needed as to why ClickUp’s Free Forever plan is placed in the category of the best free plans offered by any productivity software. Even though it’s an entry-level plan, you have unlimited access to tasks and can add unlimited team members to your workspace. ClickUp’s core features are also explored, including native video recording, whiteboards and time-tracking.

While the lineup of offerings appears to be convincing, you have to keep in mind that some limitations have been put into place, like the allowance of only 100 automations per month and 100MB worth of storage. Nonetheless, the Free Forever plan is a solid pick for solopreneurs, project management newbies, and small-scale teams needing more budget.

Unlimited Plan

You like the free tier, but you don’t want to follow the rules that could impede your workflow. ClickUp’s Unlimited plan offers many welcome upgrades and additional features at very affordable prices. At the same time, other productivity platforms have plans similar to this but at higher price ranges. ClickUp Email Notifications

For as low as $5 per user per month (if paid annually), you get the same core features from the Free Forever plan, plus unlimited storage and app integrations, unlimited dashboard creations, advanced reporting tools, and the Goals & Portfolio tool. Ideal for small-sized teams with an expanded client base and increasing resources, upgrading this plan from Free Forever requires a little money, making it valuable.

Business Plan

ClickUp’s Business Plan is for teams that have grown beyond their small spaces and are prepared to tackle new challenges. ClickUp’s Business Plan includes a host of features to meet the increasing demands of effective workplace resources. It includes extra security features such as double-factor authentication and single sign on integrations with Google for team members, in addition to the other features of the two previous tiers.

The Business Plan also received upgrades that have been worth it, such as advanced dashboard customizations, next level automation, and improved public sharing. The Goal Folders feature allows you to compile and organize your project goals into separate folders, making it easy for safekeeping. If you pay yearly, the Business plan is only $12 per user per month.

Business Plus Upgrade

Explore more with the Business Plan The Business Plus upgrade is priced at $19 per member per year (annually), and unlocks all the features of the tier to maximize productivity within your team. Not only will you get an additional allowance for automations.

The Enterprise tier offers advanced solutions like white labeling, unlimited custom role, advanced permissions and customized contract agreements with legal support. It also includes HIPAA compliance for healthcare team members. Other noteworthy deals include the ability to do single sign-on using multiple apps aside from Google, custom onboarding training for new teammates, and a dedicated success manager to ensure a highly productive and positive workplace. ClickUp’s Features: A Closer Look

Before we go ahead and check out the rest of what ClickUp has to offer, it’s important to first look at its hierarchal structure. A typical productivity system is composed of two things: a company or its projects. ClickUp takes it up a notch with a few structural adjustments, resulting in the creation of its distinct hierarchy of, in this order, Teams, Workspaces, Spaces (Projects), Folders, Lists, and Tasks.

ClickUp defines a team as a company or organization that manages all tasks and assigns them the employees or their teammates. Teams are usually created by companies from different fields. However, there are rare instances when large groups manage multiple teams simultaneously. From the Teams come the Workspaces, referred to as departments within the company.

The Workspaces are followed by a variety of Spaces, or work projects. These are assigned by departments within the Team. Each Space branches out to the Folders, which then branch out to the Lists. These Spaces are essentially subprojects of the larger plan. The much-anticipated Tasks from the Lists section are finally here, each one assigned to a different member of the team.

Let’s now get to the point.

Multitask Toolbar

Once you step into the ClickUp user interface, you may notice the multitask toolbar, which appears if you click on one or multiple tasks on the list. It has the same old functions that you could expect from, say, a taskbar from any e-mail platform like Yahoo Mail or Gmail, such as the ability to select and mark as read, delete, etc. It is a wonderful feature for managers and solo power users who have to handle a lot of tasks.

Just like you would any e-mail service, ClickUp’s multitask toolbar allows you to do a variety of things with your chosen tasks. You can, for instance, change the status if they’re complete or not, modify the due dates, set assignees among your current teammates, and even convert some of them into sub-tasks to make the full goal less complicated.

A Simplified Approach to Managing and Viewing Tasks

Nearly all productivity apps require you to manually enter your tasks, and then inputting them in your team calendar and goals. ClickUp has simplified the process to a huge extent – instead of taking up nearly an hour or more of your time, you need to type in whatever task you have in mind and wait for the platform to integrate the data into your workspace very shortly.

Regarding how you view your laid-out tasks, ClickUp has given you plenty of options to explore. ClickUp currently offers more than 15 views. These include the calendar, boards, mindmap, map view and workload. This will give you a full overview of the team’s performance and help you to set realistic goals.

Customization range

ClickUp is a great tool for task management. Its useful drag-and-drop feature has turned the process of reorganizing tasks into a piece of cake. You can drag and drop tasks to move the deadline to a later date or period.

However, customization goes beyond the simple drag-and-drop and multitask toolbar tools with ClickUp. Its ClickApps section, on the one hand, helps give the Workspace experience more life by supplying you with time-saving tools such as automations, dependencies, sprints, and more, all of which you can incorporate into your team’s space. You can also create templates for your documents, checklists, folders and other tasks that you might use in the future. Zapier allows you to integrate with more than 1,000 apps and services, making it easy for you to have a productive work environment. ClickUp Email Notifications

Collaboration and communication tools

ClickUp makes it easy to communicate with your team and provides them with in-house tools that make it simple. You can chat with your colleagues and catch up on tasks. However, as good as these features may seem, it’s important to note that they shouldn’t be heavily relied on as there are some issues with the interface and that it’s better to have some comms backups on the ready in case something goes awry.

ClickUp is not only integrated with communication tools but also has smooth collaboration features. Like Google’s work suite, you can see whatever your teammates are working on in real-time from the Whiteboard to the Documents. Have any feedback in mind? You can proof your files or your teammates’ tasks, assign comments for suggestions, and even share them with others so they can see what’s going on.

Documents

It is a great idea to have a place where you can share your ideas and goals. However, you will need to access them on different applications. ClickUp addresses this problem by integrating its version of Documents to the platform. This allows you and your team members to work together without having to go elsewhere.

More than creating and editing your files with a handful of fonts, sizes, and photos, ClickUp Docs lets you link them with your Workspace tasks seamlessly through the use of widgets. You don’t need to update your workflow in different tabs. Instead, you can do it all within the editor. This feature not only saves you time, but also helps you to be more productive.

When your docs are ready, you have the option to share them either privately between your teammates or publicly with an automatically generated copy-paste link. ClickUp Docs also offers other useful features such as Focus Mode, which allows you to focus on the part you are working on without distractions and allowing you to look at page details including word count, approximate reading time, and estimated reading time.

Real-time reporting and goal tracking

When handling projects, it’s crucial to keep track of their progress and see if anything is done to get close to their desired goal. ClickUp’s customizable dashboard allows you to view all types of project indicators from one place. You have all the tools you need to know if your projects are on track for success, from the status of sprints and goals to the real-time graph showing how many tasks were completed by the team.

ClickUp’s reporting section makes it easy to report on how your workspace is doing. Apart from visually appealing graphs, ClickUp also offers automatic reporting tools like the Pulse section. Here you can see how many of your team members are online at any given time, Time Estimates and Team Points. You can also view reports about how many tasks each member completed in a particular period of time.

Time Management

Remote work is becoming more popular. This has led to a growing demand for time management apps that help team members track how much time they work each day, week, and month, even though they may be in different places. While there have been dedicated platforms for that, time management features are already part of ClickUp’s loaded package of offerings. Its time tracking and reporting functions are just like the rest of ClickUp’s tools.

The software’s global timer enables teammates to input their work hours, link their tasks, and add notes regardless of the type of device being used – you may record your time from your laptop, mobile phone, or from ClickUp’s free Chrome browser extension. You may opt to either start the timer as you get to your tasks or manually type in how many hours you’ll work in a day – no matter which way you prefer, ClickUp provides you with them. The core tools for general time tracking management such as time billing, editing and timesheets will be covered. Have you used a separate time-tracking app before, and do you want to transfer data from there to ClickUp? Simply sync information between the two platforms. ClickUp Email Notifications

What Customers Have to Say About ClickUp

ClickUp’s impressive list of project management tools has given it a cutting edge over the rest, although the number of those may be too overwhelming for some users who may just want to keep their fellow team members on track. But, for what it’s worth, it has amassed a considerable following among the general public.

Most team leaders who have used ClickUp for work have been generally positive about their experiences navigating through it so far. They have lauded the platform for its limitless customization possibilities and how time-saving most of its interface and features are. They’ve also appreciated how fully functional its free entry-level plan is compared to other productivity software and how worth the upgrades to higher tiers can get considering the valuable price range.

ClickUp has many features. It’s no surprise that learning can be difficult, especially for people not familiar with remote project management. With that in mind, they may need to allow themselves more time to get used to its inner workings, which the service thankfully catches up with a vast range of learning and onboarding material. ClickUp is also subject to criticism for its mobile app and web interfaces that can sometimes be glitchy, but most users don’t see any problems with the service as a whole. Alternatives to ClickUp

ClickUp has made its mark as one of the best productivity software out there, and its level of recognition today has now equaled the following alternative work platforms below. Each one has its own unique features and competitive aspects, but some aren’t as good as ClickUp.

  • Monday.com – It’s obvious Monday.com is a close competitor to ClickUp. Monday.com offers many of the same features as ClickUp, including customization options, workflow capabilities, integrations and the ability to provide learning and onboarding resources to its teammates. While it lacks in its free plan and wide range of tools, it sure does make up for its ease of set-up and use.
  • Smartsheet – Smartsheet provides teams with the same quality project management tools that ClickUp offers, including a reliable mobile app and multiple task-viewing options. They also have the ability to share tasks with colleagues in real-time. Smartsheet excels when it comes creating spreadsheet-adjacent projects plans. This makes it an excellent choice for detail-oriented groups that have to deal with large amounts of data, as well as freelancers and small-scale groups.
  • Teamwork – While ClickUp and the rest are collectively best for team projects, Teamwork has a slew of tools geared toward client- and service-based interactions. You can also use some of the great features that you would expect from any PM program, as well as many other useful tools. Although it doesn’t have all the features ClickUp offers, Teamwork has a complete suite of products that can be used to enhance productivity. ClickUp Email Notifications
  • Asana – Some PM platforms, like ClickUp, may be inundated with too many features, and others may need to be more basic. They may be considered pointless. Asana strikes the perfect balance between power and simplicity making it an excellent choice for small to large teams. Asana is a great tool for beginners, offering a comprehensive mix of tools, from task management to communication. Some aspects, such as full customization, require that you pay extra.

ClickUp for the Final Verdict

As we reach the end of our ClickUp review, let’s go full circle to the beginning and answer these questions: 1) How accurate is its claim to increase productivity rates? How does it handle workflow?

Firstly, from how it executes its premise by being a one-stop platform for all project management needs, there’s no doubt that ClickUp has the potential to improve workflow among teammates, even while remote. However, having too many tools can lead to information overload. Based on everything we know so far, is ClickUp worth a try as the go-to software for you and your employers? Although the final decision is up to you, we believe it’s worth a try in this instance. ClickUp may be a good choice for you if you are a small team looking to move to remote work.
