Cut-It-Out Communications Announces Results
of Survey about Online Public Relations
Hartsdale, NY, June 19, ‘08 -- Cut-It-Out Communications, Inc. (CIOC), a full-service Westchester public relations and copywriting firm, today announced the results of its survey about online public relations and the posting of a full report on its website under 2008 survey results.
The survey was sent out to 200 people, primarily business owners and senior executives, and generated some interesting statistics. While 42 percent of the respondents realized the importance of inbound links for search engine optimization (SEO), they failed to use some of the main tools for creating them. Only 16 percent contributed to content provision sites on a regular basis, and 50 percent had never used a blog.
Willy Gissen, President of Cut-It-Out Communications, said, "Executives who realize the importance of SEO in marketing their organizations, and engage a firm knowledgeable in online public relations, could transform their websites from background material to an independent source of revenue. In doing so, they would increase their visibility, surpass their competitors, and engage in a worthwhile and cost-effective project."
Mr. Gissen went on to describe a method called geo-targeting, an emphasis on terms with a company's location, to improve search engine ranking. For example, a company focusing on the best Google results for "Westchester County widgets" would achieve the best possible position by avoiding competition with the entire national widget industry.
In other results, only 28 percent of the respondents sent out an e-newsletter at least once a quarter, and 62 percent had no knowledge of html. In fact, 42 percent retained an I.T. consultant to update their websites.
