In 2003, Willy Gissen founded Cut-It-Out Communications, a full-service public relations agency based in Hartsdale, New York. The organization focuses on the incorporation of online activities into traditional public relations programs.

These activities include e-newsletters, the set up and maintenance of blogs, and the creation of inbound links to maximize a client's search engine ranking.

Email Marketing Tips

Email Marketing TipsAfter attending an email marketing conference sponsored by Constant Contact, I was introduced to several valuable rules and amazing online resources. They include:

1. The ability to match any color on the web by using Color Cop. This program lets you drag an "eye dropper" over any colored background, and it will automatically give you the index number (hexadecimal or RGB) to exactly reproduce that color.

2. Limit your subject line to 35-47 characters, five-to-eight words, because most email browsers will cut it off after that.

3. Don't use more than two-to-three colors for your newsletter. More than that creates a confusing, or even comical, image.

Html Fundamentals
 Html Fundamentals
A basic knowledge of html offers a world of possibilities for editing your web site, improving graphic design and placing documents online to share them with friends and colleagues.

At its most basic level, it is not a computer language and consists mainly of a series of brackets. The text in between the brackets is modified according to the bracket used.

Thus, the letter "b" stands for bold, and if you place text between two "b" brackets, it will be changed to bolded text. More specifically,

"This will be a <b>great</b> day" becomes "This will be a great day."
