Grantwriting

ut-It-Out’s entry into the grantwriting field demonstrates our firm’s capability to adapt and learn new techniques. We were preparing a brochure for Manhattanville College on “The Ophir Farm Estate,” a historical site co-located on the campus, when our client, because she was so pleased with our work, asked us to learn about grantwriting so we could write a proposal.

One thing led to another, and our firm was so successful in this field, we ended up writing grants for many other groups as well including The Food Bank for Westchester, an organization devoted to fighting hunger in our county; the Baychester Youth Council, a neighborhood center for underprivileged children in the North Bronx; and a missionary program to prevent sex trafficking in India. Our grantwriting recently reached a high point when we were tapped to write a proposal for the Clinton Global Initiative about stopping violence in the nation of Jamaica.

CIOC supplemented this on-the-job training with educational instruction including the basic Proposal Writing seminar offered at The Foundation Center, the national clearinghouse for grantwriting information, and a course titled “Advanced Grantwriting” at Westchester Community College.

Because we are relatively new to the grantwriting field, CIOC offers an affordable alternative for non-profit organizations to consider. We charge a low monthly retainer and forego the typical percentage requested from grant awards.

For organizations new to grantwriting, click here to see our introductory program. We will research the foundations in your field, draft a "model proposal" and write tailored applications. Grantmakers especially appreciate our factual, direct writing when they evaluate your submission.
